I bought Vogue 1247. I can't remember where I saw it for the first time, there have been so many people who have made it. It is a loose fitting top and looks perfect for summer wear.
After seeing Carolyn's post ( http://handmadebycarolyn.blogspot.com/) and the inside of the garment with all the intersecting seams, it might be better to make it in a print, just in case mine doesn't turn out as perfect as hers. Which frankly, is more than likely. Oh, hell it is a certainty. Anyway I bought two prints. What do you think?
This one has a cream background, with black, olive and gray. |
The color is way off on this one, what looks white here is actually a medium gray. |
Gratuitous cute dog picture.

Oooh, that is terrifying! I suck (suck suck suck) at prints. (But then, I don't tend to wear them in ready-made, either...) Except for quilting prints, for some reason. Those make me go all squidgy and then I buy quilting fabric and have to figure out something to do with it...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the shirt! :)
I don't wear prints too much either, mostly because they seem to date clothes the most. I know! about the quilting fabrics, fortunately I actually have a use for them, I make the husband's scrubs for work out of quilting fabric. Butch prints only of course. 8-Q
DeleteI love prints, foolishly! I wish I sewed with more solids, maybe it wouldn't look I'm trying to hide pockets on a cheetah so often!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to work that out visually. Oh. There. Got it.
DeleteThanks for the mention! I know you will do an amazing job with this beautiful fabric... good luck with those seams! It is a gorgeous pattern.. and I am halfway through the skirt too, I hope you get to make this too!
