Hello All!

This is the sour cherry tree in my backyard. I am posting this because it is a sign of spring.
See the bud? Yes. You do. It is so a bud. Shut up.

I got some good news today! I was tested for Celiac disease and I got the good news today! I don't have it. I am certain that I have a sensitivity to wheat/gluten, however. It won't kill me though. So I can indulge occasionally should the mood strike.

Apparently there was something wrong with my blog, and some people were unable to post. This upset me greatly as the comments here are one of the few joys of my life. Kidding, I am not quite that pathetic, almost but not quite. I do however really appreciate any and all comments I receive, and now thanks to Jilly, it is fixed. Or so it seems. If you want to comment and you are unable to please please please email me at ellecsews (at) gmail (dot) com and let me know.

Have a good weekend. Get sewing. Like me.

  2. Oh lucky you! Unlucky for me I took the test a few years ago but got the opposite result. Took me what felt like ages to be able to walk past a bakery and not comes to tears at the delicious smells now off limits! But, life goes on eh?

    1. I haven't been eating wheat/gluten much since last summer as I have almost no energy and my depression gets worse when I eat it. Not even gonna talk about the digestive issues. 8-) At least I can go out to a restaurant and eat something without being as concerned as you have to be. The end result won't be a whole lot different than if I was diagnosed with Celiac, but I don't have to be as cautious as you do.

  3. Testing, testing, 1-2-3. If you see this, Elle, hurray! And in that case, hurray also for not having celiac disease!

    If I don't see this, I'll email you . . .

  5. Yay to not having Celiac disease! My MIL has it and while it is certainly possible to work around gluten, it sure is frustrating to know you are actually doing yourself harm when there is cross contamination somewhere along the line.

  6. That is such good news on your diagnosis! I have a close friend with the disease, and at the age of 45 was told he had the bone density of the average 80 yr old. It's a terrible thing to have.
