from the Manequim website

I found a link on Pattern Review about the Manequim website, saying they had free downloadable patterns online, of course being a greedy thrifty sewist I had to go see. Now we all know that Google translator isn't entirely reliable when it comes to translating, but this one had me in convulsions. Here is a screen shot of the translation from Portuguese to English.

How to measure the horse's shoes? WTF?

Oh and here is the link to the website, if you are interested. I couldn't find the patterns. Let me know if you do.

  1. Bahahaha! I got several patterns off there when I was first sewing/blogging, but they seemed to be in the process of reducing them and I wouldn't be surprised if they were all gone now. The sizing was fairly limited, too. One of my early knit projects was from there.

  2. ROFL - We should all start saying horseshoe instead of crotch curve. It would keep away some of the ewwwwie comments.

  3. I've seen loads of adorable patterns in Japanese and haven't let myself buy one because I didn't know how well the translators worked. Now I know. If I ever need to measure my horse's shoes I hope I have a chair big enough for him to sit straight in.

I loved those puppy pics you found. Some of the mixes were adorable. Others really got a raw deal. My girls have Basset legs and bodies but not heads. I'm glad because I don't really want drooly dogs.

    1. Dogs that drool are just about the only characteristic that I can't live with. We have a father and son Papillon and Pom crosses, I know most of the litter mates of the son, and a couple of them got beaten with the ugly stick big time, it's a crap shoot. My puppy is one of the best looking, which is dumb luck cause I fell in love with him when he was less than a week old.

The first three links on page 1 link you to some other page, but all other links seem to work fine.

    2. Oh, good! I had looked through but didn't get past the first three where the link just takes you to the magazine subscription site. (Maybe you need a magazine subscription to get them?)

  6. I just assumed this was more disrespect for the model profession. "...and now we measure the whores...'

  7. I didn't find any free patterns, just ones to purchase. It is fun to run things through translators!
