New Simplicity Patterns

Simplicity has their new patterns out today and I fell in love with one and I like several. First the one I love.  I love this dress, never mind that with my current shape it would look dreadful. Love can be unrequited. I`m okay with that. Don`t you love the seaming on this dress, so cute.

.
This one looks like a nice easy summer dress, I like the wrap front, without a wrap on the bottom, which I always find irritating to wear.

.

This one is kind of cute, but nothing that we haven`t seen before, but not bad. I can see it being worn by a variety of shapes and sizes.

.

Anyway that`s it for me. What do you think about the new Simplicity patterns?

  1. I think we have rather similar tastes based on those selections. You'd have a lot of movement in that first skirt but I like that there isn't extra bulk at the belly. I like the cut sleeve option on the second dress. Wraps are so flattering but hard to get the bust right without gaping. That looks high enough to not be such an issue.
And speaking of a variety of sizes, the model in the last one and the cut sleeve is super pretty with her curves. Nice to show a figure on an envelope or is that just because it's offered in plus sizes?

    1. I do appreciate it when the woman modeling the dress isn't a size zero!

  2. These are some cute patterns! Although I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the Cynthia Rowley pattern (or more specifically, all those seams). But then, I'm always iffy on her patterns until I see them made up for people with more curves than the models on the envelopes. The dresses always look so shapeless! Guess I'll hold off judgement until people start posting reviews on PR. :)

Are you planning on getting any of these patterns?

    1. Don`t get me wrong, I wouldn`t enjoy sewing and trying to match all those seams, I just think the dress is cute. I may get the second one, it would be an easy dress for work.

    1. Fabricland should be having their annual pattern sale soon, isn't Simplicity usually only $1.99 on sale???

  4. I'm also considering that last pattern -- I love the variety, although I don't wear a lot of long skirts. The first one, however, looks like it would be hell to wear for those of us of the saddlebaggish persuasion....

  6. Ohh! I'm just in love! I agree with you the Chyntia Rowley dress is gorgeous!
And just to make you jealous, I would actually look good in it as well. I am seriously thinking I must get it an make it for this summer.

  7. I love all your choices too esp the first dress - its seems quite different to the usual simplicity offers. I can imagine the curved seams would be tricky though. Also your dogs are soooo lovely - I have a pomeranian cross the same colouring as yours although he is not such a little fluff ball as yours.

    1. The two pom crosses are considerably less fluffy today, they each had a bath and spa treatment (aka thorough brushing), and Jasper is getting sheared on May 10 for the summer.
